Sun Home Equinox 2 vs Eclipse 2

Compare US Equinox 2 and Eclipse 2 dimensions, plugs, installation conditions and the scope of the selected packages.

Both are listed as 120V indoor models, but their published connection and supply requirements differ. Eclipse 2’s L5-30P requirement must not be treated as equivalent to Equinox 2’s 5-20P connection.

Door swing, overhang details and service allowances require separate checks.

These are manufacturer and seller specifications. Missing installation requirements remain unresolved; neither model is declared the universal winner. We have not tested heat distribution, comfort or reliability.

The meaningful first difference is not the voltage label

A shortlist limited to 120V would retain both of these models while missing the different published connection and supply requirement. Give the installer the exact configuration and receptacle specification rather than saying that you need an outlet for a two-person infrared sauna.

The directory records the stated supply separately from rated watts. Neither a similar seat count nor the same nominal voltage establishes that an existing circuit is appropriate.

Read the installation conditions as separate documents

Eclipse 2’s assembly guide distinguishes bare walls, combustible coverings and alcoves, and gives front and overhead requirements. Equinox has its own published clearances. Do not transplant the more convenient set from one cabin into the other.

The comparison shows missing scalar fields as unresolved and includes the contextual notes below. A range or a wall-finish condition cannot be turned into a universal minimum without identifying the actual installation.

Compare the selected equipment and the finished project

Check the supplied heater and light systems, controls and powered accessories on the quotation. A feature label can describe hardware without proving comfort, irradiance at a seating position or a personal benefit. We have not tested those outcomes.

Choose two complete scopes for the budget comparison, including delivery, assembly and any supply changes. Then use each model’s room check. A lower recorded sticker price cannot resolve an installation mismatch or establish the cheaper completed project.

Installation conditions that a scalar table cannot show

Sun Home Equinox™ 2-Person Indoor Full-Spectrum Infrared Sauna

  • Installation condition : The owner manual excludes closets and tight, unventilated spaces. Roof access is needed for service.

Sun Home Eclipse™ 2-Person Indoor Red Light & Full-Spectrum Infrared Sauna

  • Published range : The manual gives 12–14 in overhead for assembly and roof connections.
  • Installation condition : The manual permits no gap to bare walls in an open room; this does not apply to alcoves or combustible coverings.
  • Installation condition : Keep 20 in from wallpaper, other combustible wall coverings and furnishings.
  • Published range : An alcove or enclosure requires 4–6 in around the cabin; the combustible clearance still applies.
  • Installation condition : Keep roof connections accessible and do not install in a tight, unventilated closet.
